Its a fact! Crowland Homes sold as many properties in Crowland during 2011 as all our major competitors ADDED TOGETHER. They may be bigger but they are certainly not more effective at selling homes here in Crowland. According to Land Registry data of property sales completed in 2011 we sold as many houses as Briggs, City and County, Connells, Haart, Sharman Quinney and Woodcock Holmes did in total NOT each. We had a great time at the Christmas Lights Switch On on Saturday. Thank you to my helpers and to everyone who called to see us and entered our competition. The jar of sweets was won by Anna Brown. Her guess was 444 and the actual number was 442. Well done Anna and hope you enjoy them. We raised £66.85 for Crowland Cancer Fund and for the Christmas Lights Fund.

The New A16 Road Is Open!
The A16 south of Crowland has now opened completing the £80 million new link from Spalding to Peterborough. The new road has been designed to modern standards to provide a safer and more reliable journey. Also, being constructed to modern standards, it will not be subject to the ongoing maintenance problems experienced on the old route. Therefore Crowland is now just 6 minutes by road from either the Peterborough Parkway or the south of Spalding.

Of these six, five were sold were by Crowland Homes and the other one was a part-exchange sale. So Crowland Homes remain clearly the most effective selling agent for local properties. No 1 Selling Agent in Town!
Its now over two years since three estate agents closed their offices in Crowland. Since then Sharman Quinney and/or City and County have usually retained the largest number of properties for sale on their books. However, do those agents achieve the highest number of sales? The best way to check (and supported by the Advertising Standards Authority) is the completed sales list published by the Land Registry each month. From October 2008 to November 2010, these figures show that Crowland Homes is the agent selling the most properties plus we sold twice as many as Sharman Quinney, three times as many as City and County and four times as many as Briggs Residential. HIPS Suspended with Immediate Effect
Communities Secretary Eric Pickles and Housing Minister Grant Shapps today announced that with immediate effect, they are suspending the requirement for homeowners to provide a Home Information Pack (HIP) when selling their homes. They also said that the Government is determined to help people reduce their energy bills, improve our energy security and tackle climate change by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes. Sellers will therefore still be required to commission, but won't need to have received, an EPC before marketing their property

CJFC U18s in PFA Cup Final
Crowland Homes proudly supports Crowland Juniors U18s FC who play Glinton in the PFA Youth Cup Final this Sunday. The match kicks-off at 3pm at Chestnut Avenue, Dogsthorpe. Many of the players have been in the team since they were 6 years old and this is their first cup final. Good luck lads!

Stamp Duty Threshold to Rise for First Time Buyers
The Chancellor of the Exchequer had good news for First Time Buyers in his budget announced today. Stamp Duty currently paid at 1% of the purchase price on properties between £125,000 and £250,000 will no longer be due for the next two years saving FTBs between £1,250 and £2,500. There was not such good news for buyers of property over £1m as stamp duty on these rises to 5%.

Stamp Duty Holiday Extended
Chancellor Alistair Darling has announced in today's budget that the stamp duty holiday for properties purchased for between £125,000 and £175,000 will be extended until the end of the year.

'Floor Plans boost buyer interest by 30%' say Rightmove
It’s official – or as good as. According to the UK biggest property portal, using floor plans increases buyer interest by a whopping 30%! This is revealed in a recent survey, published in a leading trade magazine, of the various marketing strategies employed by agents to try and make their properties stand out from the online crowd. In it, Rightmove’s Commercial Director Miles Shipside, quoting the portal’s own comprehensive statistics, is unequivocal: “Floor plans generate 30% more interest than properties without one,” he says. Why is this? “It’s all about people imagining themselves living there, and deciding whether they can fit their furniture in,” explains Shipside.

Mortgage Approvals Jump
Mortgage approvals for house purchases in Britain rose more than expected in February, according to official figures from the Bank of England.
There were 38,000 approvals in the month, up from 32,000 in January- a 19% increase. The mortgage figures suggest that low interest rates and falling house prices are encouraging people back into the market.

UK interest rates lowered to 0.5%
The Bank of England has cut interest rates to 0.5% - a fresh all-time low - and says it will now boost the money supply too.
Interest rates have now been reduced six times since October, and the latest half a percentage point cut from January's 1% had been expected.
The Bank said it would expand the amount of money in the system by £75bn to boost bank lending.
